From what we played, your decisions are mostly for expressing yourself so there’s no fear of negative effects on the story. If it’s your first time playing though, we highly recommend just going with the flow as experiencing the story fresh is quite a journey and will be ruined if you start “chapter scrubbing”. As such, having a manual save is unnecessary as you can make the decision, see how it plays out, then start the chapter again to make a different decision and see how it goes from there. The game does a really good job of showing players how to platform through the world but more important topics such as if the game autosaves or how to triple jump seem to be mostly glossed over. The Artful Escape is a narrative-driven adventure that is slightly altered by player decisions so knowing how to save is important.
